Optilon enters the Finnish market

The 16’th of November was an important day for Optilon. Optilon’s sponsorship of Management event’s conference 600min Supply Chain in Helsinki acted as a starting point for our effort to enter the Finnish market. As the only Platinum sponsor Optilon experienced a big interest for planning & optimization, there was also a lot of knowledge. As much as 54 companies chose to meet Optilon during the organized meetings.

-I think it was very pleasing to see that there are a lot of Finnish companies interested in our area and our services and we’re looking forward to meeting several of the companies that we’ve met today in further discussions. Says Optilon’s Anders Remnebäck, speaker at the conference and consultant within planning & optimization since more than 15 years.

Supply Chain Design

Optilon had two appreciated presentations during the conference. The first one was about strategic analysis and how to create lasting business advantages with Supply Chain Design. The presentation was held by Anders Remnebäck together with Optilon’s customer Vacon who’s director of global logistics told the audience why they considered it necessary to invest in the optimization software Supply Chain Guru from LLamasoft. Finnish Vacon develops, manufactures and sells AC-drives. Remnebäck told the audience about the importance of having a supply chain that is designed to handle the very risks and challenges that the company is being faced with.

Service Optimization

Optilon’s second speach involved a very exciting subject, how to optimize service in a rally garage. Service optimization is a fairly new concept that begins with the overall service level goal for the entire assortment and based on that, service levels and inventory levels for each item can be set to optimize the overall service and maximize the profit. This is one of Optilon’s main areas and something that we often work with in our customer projects. No need telling that service optimization is applicable for retailers, spare part inventory and wholesale but it can actually also be used to optimize levels and availability in accessories, spare parts etc. in a rally garage. Our Finnish representative Janne Siikonen told the audience about this in a short presentation.
